Sarah Slean - Flirted With You All My Life (audio)

On June 21st this year Sarah played an intimate house concert for the documentary styled TV show The Neighbors Dog. The audio of Sarah doing a cover of Vic Chesnutt's "Flirted With You All My Life" from the show has now been posted.

Every Sunday they air back to back episodes of the new season of shows. They have yet to air Sarah's. Check out their web site for their scheduale and wear to tune in. On Twitter they indicated they soon may have a way to watch the show online. In the mean time, it would be appreciated if anyone can recorde it for us.

Sarah Slean on eTalk: Album, Relationship, Interviews (Video)

On August 15th Sarah Slean was on eTalk.  The segment showed tape from the recording of the Sea side of the album.  The entertainment show went into the personal side of things mentioning Sarah's marriage with fellow musician Royal Wood.  Sarah also talks about her plan for touring the album distinctly but those plans seem to have since transformed.  For those who follow littleslean on twitter, you may have noticed a RT for an upcoming concert in Winnipeg.  Will make a new post as further tour details come up.

View the unlisted video below.

A second interview concerning Land & Sea was done with Harbourfront and Sarah Slean.  It can be read over here.

On Day 2 of the Pre-Order some items have sold out like the Limited Edition hand made versions of Land & Sea.

Beautiful Noise (TV - Brazil)

In 2008 Sarah Slean performed a filmed concert in Toronto's Berkley's Church. Bravo aired a 30 minute of the program under the title, The Berkley Sessions that featured a handful of the live songs.

This past Saturday Sun TV aired a 1 hour program of this concert under the title Beautiful Noise. The broadcast on SunTV was in high definition and featured all songs of the concert with the exception of No Place at All. Fortunately 'No Place at All' was one of the songs that had been shown in The Berkley Sessions broadcast on Bravo.

It appears that the full hour program may be airing in Brazil on June 8th. The guide information can be found here. Multishow also has it listed here.

For those in Canada who missed it. The one hour concert for the Berkley Session may be picked up on repeat again on Sun TV or CBC Bold.

The filmed piece directed by Rob Pilichowski that focuses on Sarah Slean and the Queen Street concert venue the Rivoli will be premiering as part of The Toronto International Film Festival. The Rivoli was one of the venues Sarah started her career at continued to play many memorable sold out shows there including her annual holiday shows. Her signed portrait photograph was the only one to hang above the stage bar for a number of years.

The film will be shown as one of the free showings at Dundas Square which this year at the festival will also include free musical concerts be Neil Young and Joan Baez.

The date and time of the showing have yet to be announced.

September 15th, 12pm Followed by Sweet Toronto - Update 2009-08-19

For those that can not make it to the free showing, City Sonic has been putting up the videos in high quality to YouTube and to one of my favourite music sites, Aux TV.

Sarah in School (National Video) & Tour

CBC's The National has conducted an excellent interview with Sarah that they aired yesterday. Sandra Abma at CBC attended a class with her at the University of Toronto, talked to her about here influences and even approached Sarah on some of her personal struggles.

A rehearsal with Andrew Burashko shows Sarah singing Lenard Cohen's That's No Was To Say Goodbye with him. They point out that both Sarah and the Art of Time Ensemble will be doing a tour together in the fall to support the album.

Through the interview live footage from many past events are shown. Most of them I recognized with the exception of the one shown at 2.37. Please leave me a comment if you know anything about that performance of Get Home.

See the video here:

The video can also be found around 33 minutes into the Friday episode of The National.

For those that can not make it down, City TV has announced that they will broadcast this year's event starting at 7:00pm. Sarah is scheduled to play after 7:25pm.

In other news, the Sarah Slean Peterborough concert has now been confirmed on the official tour page of sarahslean.com.

Update (Nov 23, 2007) - Sarah is set to play two seasonal songs.

Update (Dec 16, 2007) - CP24 did air the broadcast but Sarah's performance was not shown to TV viewers as they cut away to air a montage of the days news and commercials. Sarah was shown partially in group number of Walking in a Winter Wonderland. The non aired songs were What Child Is This? (Available on Women and Songs Christmas album) and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. I could not find any re-air dates.
