Land & Sea Tour - 3 Days Deep

The Land & Sea tour kicked off in London ON this week with dates that followed in Peterborough and Hamilton.  Positive reviews have come in so far from each night for the concerts and over the VIP pre-show meet and greets.  There has been a surge of press the last few days that can be found with a quick google news search or via Twitter.  I will post the highlights and for those following Sarah on facebook they have been getting steady updates.

The band members for this tour are,
Lyle, Paul and Derek Downham.  She's also been joined by songwriter Karen Kosowski who been providing back up vocals and shared duties on the keys.

The opening show in London had the following set list provided by user 'nevermind' and full review can be found in Canadian Interviews.

Euphoria was played as a request so it might pop out of the set list.  The show in Hamilton featured Sarah playing The Right Words.

For those interested in collecting set list and show reviews, the heavily ad supported site SetListFM has been having shows updated and it has some neat tools.  SongKick.com that shows most of Sarah's current concert listing also supports show reviews and set lists.

Here is video that Sarah did with City News yesterday to promote this Saturday's concert in Toronto at The Winter Garden Theatre.  http://www.citytv.com/toronto/citynews/videos/165909

Aside from the concerts and press, Sarah played an early show at PCVS (Peterborough Collegiate and Vocational  School).  The school is currently facing closure for re-purposing.

Holiday Concert Wrap Up

For this year's 6th annual holiday concert, Sarah was accompanied by The Baroness band featuring Chris Banks (bass), Royal Wood (organ/guitar), Mark Mariash (drums) and Dean Drouillard. (guitar).

Some of the song selection came from the requests of those who purchased VIP ticket packages.  Duncan for example was played for a request sent in from a couple from Edmonton celebrating a 10 year wedding anniversary.

The special guest opener was Jesse Labelle who played a short set followed by an intermission.

Sarah went back to the past playing songs she hadn't played since 2000 with Before Your Time and her cover of Over The Rainbow.  Me & Jerome took on a new jazz sound as it was taken on with this band.

For new songs, Sarah played The Day We Saved the World from her upcoming album and The Right Words from her newly released album Beauty Lives.  More details on Beauty Lives will posted very shortly and another post thanking those for participating in a successful Passioneer Holiday Project.

CD Release Concert Review - Joe's Pub, NYC

Asking around for reviews of the CD release party, I received the following detailed review, set list, and picture courtesy of Chris. He flew into the show, this is his review.

"Sarah and her band took the stage at about 7:30. I can't be sure of the names of the band members, but there was a drummer, guitarist, and an upright bass player. The guitarist snag backups on most songs and the rest of the band joined in on a song or two. The show was rather short, maybe just over an hour. She performed Lucky Me standing in front of the piano, sort of moving to the music similar to how she did in the video for that song. I was afraid it would be awkward for her to stand and sing a song without something to do with her hands, butshe pulled it off beautifully. Afterward, Sarah came out and talked with about 20 fans who had waited around for her, signed autographs, and was her charming self."

Set List:
1. California
2. Duncan
3. Notes From The Underground (correction)
4. No Place At All
5. Please Be Good To Me
6. Lucky Me (standing, no piano)
-- band leaves --
7. Pilgrim (solo)
8. Blue Parade (solo)
-- band returns --
9. Goodnight Trouble
10. Get Home
11. Looking For Someone
-- encore --
12. Universe (solo)
13. Parasol (with band)

Thanks again to Chris for providing that review. Other reports stated that it was a great show but they felt it just felt too short. A Canadian tour is set for May.
