If you have been over to SarahSlean.com lately you might have noticed Sarah has announced a b-side project on recording some of her unrecorded songs. She has asked for help from her fans to send her three unrecorded songs of hers that you would like to see recorded and made into limited edition 10 track album for this year's Holiday concert. Lyrics or any live recordings would also be helpful so please submit those to myself or her.
To help jog your memory and introduce you to some Sarah's unrecorded songs, here is an updated list from Nicole's littleslean.com archives. With Sarah's permission I have uploaded live audio and video from a few of these songs and linked them below for the duration of this project.
Submission of requests must be sent to thebaronessinc(AT)gmail.com before October 30th. If you want to know when this page has been update, please be sure to follow littleslean news via e-mail subscription, twitter and other syndication options shown in the right side panel. Thank you!

Lyrics for those we don't seem to have video/audio of and the complete lyrics for Count Me Out since she always seems to forget different parts when she sings (love this tune the way it reads in full).
CLOSER
Lyrics:
Why do I hide from you?
Why do I play this game?
I tell myself let go
I know I know I know
Oh I know
I hear the screaming dark
It's the misery of my doubt
Your love is selfish (or selfless) arms and still I can't get out
I realize there is reason
Your truth has left me bleeding
You're closer than I'll ever be
Than I'll ever be
This body your will to hold
Basing on arms I know
Critical as he is
You make it warm so warm
I realize there are reasons
Your truth has left me bleeding
Closer than I'll ever be
Is it that you want me
Or is it that you love me
You're closer than you'll ever be
OGONI STAR lyrics:
There’s an ogoni star in the sky shining, shining bright
There are stars of your brothers in the sky, shining, shining bright
And you can’t say, you’re not afraid
You can’t say you’re not afraid
But If I stopped to listen would I burn with them, would I waste the night
So dance you people dancing away, your lonely tears
Dance for freedom, dancing away, you lonely tears
Do you see the stars in the sky shining, shining bright
I see stars and the sisters in that sky shining, shining bright
Oh you can’t say you’re not afraid
Oh almost, we’re all afraid
If I stopped to listen, would I burn with them, would I waste the night
So dance you people dancing away your lonely tears
Dance for freedom dancing away, your lovely tears
Dance you people dancing away, your lonely king
Dance for freedom, dancing away you lonely king
COUNT ME OUT Lyrics:
Cup a coffee out on the freeway
I hear the morning geese
I think of beaches, I think of dying
I buy a magazine
And change the channels,
Change the bed sheets,
Wash the windows,
Wait for the weekend
What does it all mean? What does it all mean?
If this is the car that I'm to drive to the job
That I must keep for the house
And the man I don’t love
Count me out, count me out
Wash the windows,
Change the bed sheets
And be my children's dreams
Frozen dinner, dark conversations
What does it all mean? What does it all mean?
Measure the minutes wait for the weekend
Something will happen then
I dreamt of something and I’m out of hiding
Until I bleed again
Then I change the channels
Change the bed sheets
And be my children’s dreams
Wash the windows
Wait for the weekend
What does it all mean, what does it all mean?
If this the car that I must drive to the job
that I must have for the house
And the man I don’t love
Count me out, count me out
Thanks, for posting those lyrics. I do have a recording of Ogoni Star but the quality wasn't all there. Some of those bars she played at were pretty chatty.
I think Sarah is okay with the lyrics to Count Me Out and was just a bit on the spot during that last video. I could post audio of more complete versions but my bet is that it will make the album.
Thanks for the quick response and if you send me an email sometime I can update you on the Berkley Concert.
What is known about Baroness and The Right Words? When were they played? Were they intended for Day One or The Baroness? Are any lyrics available? I'd love to hear ones that I don't know anything about but it's so hard to choose.
I believe Baroness was written at the time of Day One and may been played at the same Rivoli concert where she played Wilderness. I was at that concert but don't have any recollection at this point. I would like to know more info on that one too.
The Right Words were listed on Sarah's set list of Novermber 22, 2007. She debuted some new songs at this concert that would make The Baroness/Redecorates. I was at this show but don't believe she played The Right Words, just had it listed under 1 of 3 columns. The list that night seemed more like a note and more similar to what she would play at that year's holiday concert. Sarah signed it for me and you can view it here. http://bit.ly/bHPSst
It's so difficult to choose. I want to hear all these "bootlegs" re-recorded and I don't know if I ever got the chance to hear any of the other ones so I can't even begin to choose! I wanna hear them all. So there.
I know she didn't write it, but I love, love, love her version of Drive (Car's cover) and would love if she recorded it. I've heard her perform it live twice and would so love to hear is again.
E, I remember her playing it at the Holiday show one year. Lyric notes to the song are on the set list I posted in my previous comment. Drop me a line.
Recording covers can be costly. I'm not sure if they will be able to do an album for Song Book concert that she is playing next year.
The hand painted album covers look fantastic.
btw- the video links have been disabled as they were only up during the voting period.
