Sarah Sings for the Movie Theme of Passchendaele

Sarah Slean sings a new song titled, After The War, for the Canadian made film Passchendaele. The film premiered at this year's Toronto International Film Festival and may be released across Canada later this Fall. Thanks to Yen on SarahSlean.com for pointing out that the song is played over the final credits. It has been mentioned that film director Paul Gross co-wrote the song but I have yet to find a solid confirmation that.

MSN/Sympatico caught up with Sarah during the film festival to gather her thoughts on the after parties and who she might be voting for in the next federal election. You can read that article and funny headline here. Toronto Life also indicates that Sarah attended the Hello Couples party.

The new pictures of Sarah shown in recent editorials were taken at this year's Film Fest and can be found on GettyImages.

Update 2008/10/14 - An image of Sarah at the Hello party on the red carpet can be found here.

Yes, Paul Gross did write a WW1 song entitled "After The War" which sounds as if it may be the same one. It was released in 1997 on the album "Two Houses" that he recorded with David Keeley. More info at paulgross.org.

Wow! I have another reason to see this movie now!

My history prof had told me about it a few months ago and it looked amazing! good Canadian War film and Sarah sings the theme? Definitely going to be in theatres opening night.

I have been looking into a release date for the soundtrack and through my searches and I can see there is a pretty big interest in it.

You can hear Sarah sing After the War in the third TV trailer.

I will post and update the comments if I come across the release date. The soundtrack was done by Polish composer and Academy Award winner, Jan A.P. Kaczmarek.

I have not heard back on the email I sent out. I have continued to search for more info on it and have not been able to find a release date.

I have read great pieces about both the film and this song. Many accounts of full theaters remaining in their seats through the credits to hear the song and the film to go with it. There are plenty of people looking for this song.

Hopefully I will have an answer soon.

why is it so difficult to find this song???

So as some of you may have discovered, the song has now leaked.

The source of the song is an extraction from the audio from the film that was ripped and put online last week.

So no word still on a soundtrack being released.

There is no legal download available. Some people have ripped the audio from the film. If you search YouTube you should be able to find it.
