More Europe Dates Coming

Sarah's website and last news letter indicated that both Europe and US dates are coming up.

The European dates start in January.
The US dates being in March and April.

The only confirmed European date so far is January 26  in Paris.

The following tour production company site points out that that Sarah will be also touring with Royal Wood from the 21st to the 26th.  The details for these shows are still not known or confirmed.

Sarah starts touring for "The Huron Carole" starting November 21st and her Canadian tour for 'Sea' commences in February.

Land & Sea - The First Day

Today marked the first day of the release for Land & Sea!

Throughout the entire day glowing feedback was being tweeted @sarahslean on twitter with reviews of the album.  Sarah responded back and RT a number of them.  I wasn't able to locate anything other then sharp praise for both Land & Sea on twitter, facebook and forums.  It's not clear which of the 2 discs is preferred the most at this time, but some have found this their favourite work of hers to date.

Although delays were expected with the iTunes release internationally, fans outside of Canada where able to download the album in their local iTunes or Amazon stores.  Sarah's tweets provided an updates that the digital distributor hit a snag that effected international pricing that was being resolved.  When it came to the deluxe edition, questions remained on its availability and the digital booklet.  What did come appearant as the day went on people where going out and buying in stores and Sarah was added to the international streaming services of Spotify and Rdio.

Some highlights from the interview was Sarah confirming that the tour will mostly focus on Land and that in the end it should each the East coast of St. John's.  She described the musicians recording on Sea and playing at her Harbourfront concert as exquisite and in a change, the interviewed put his shoes aside and Sarah kept hers on.

The hand made editions of Land & Sea also went into the mail but where first photographed by Sarah and tweeted.  50 album cases where made for both Land & Sea putting the total number at 100 unique covers.  They are similar to how the work was done for the Beauty Lives special edition with the exception of the sides not being labeled.

Lastly, Sarah's website was updated with VIP packages for Nelson, Edmonton and Vancouver.  Most tour dates that are not already on sale will go on sale this Friday.  Some of the shows have pre-sales.

Sarah Slean on eTalk: Album, Relationship, Interviews (Video)

On August 15th Sarah Slean was on eTalk.  The segment showed tape from the recording of the Sea side of the album.  The entertainment show went into the personal side of things mentioning Sarah's marriage with fellow musician Royal Wood.  Sarah also talks about her plan for touring the album distinctly but those plans seem to have since transformed.  For those who follow littleslean on twitter, you may have noticed a RT for an upcoming concert in Winnipeg.  Will make a new post as further tour details come up.

US Tour Dates Postponed

I recently updated the post regarding Sarah's Joe's Pub concert in New York. Although I'm not certain regards to tonight's concert, an annoucement was made on Sarah's page today stated the following.

We’re excited to announce that Sarah has been invited to participate in a documentary for Song For Africa, a non-profit organization that aims to inspire change and raise awareness about humanitarian issues in Africa. This project will take Sarah to Africa from mid-November to early December.

Unfortunately, this means that the small US tour that was being planned for November has been pushed to next year. Check back for tour updates or sign up for our mailing list to have this information sent to you directly.

We will continue to look up more information on Songs for Africa and any further news on upcomming concert dates. The official site also posted a new joural entry of Sarah's as well.

Sarah Slean and the Art of Time Song Book Tour

Dates for Sarah Slean and the Art of Time tour together is support of Black Flowers has been posted on the website for the Collection Agency. The dates are as follows:

The dates for this show have not been posted on the Art of Time website or sarahslean.com at the time of publishing. Some tickets are currently on sale. New Canadian Tour

Check out Sarah's official site for a list of new tour dates announced earlier today. Some dates may still be in the works as hinted by the Agency Group's Colin Lewis on Facebook.

Sarah's email news letter has more details towards the concerts such as them being solo and a way to support the environment.

Sarah in School (National Video) & Tour

CBC's The National has conducted an excellent interview with Sarah that they aired yesterday. Sandra Abma at CBC attended a class with her at the University of Toronto, talked to her about here influences and even approached Sarah on some of her personal struggles.

A rehearsal with Andrew Burashko shows Sarah singing Lenard Cohen's That's No Was To Say Goodbye with him. They point out that both Sarah and the Art of Time Ensemble will be doing a tour together in the fall to support the album.

Through the interview live footage from many past events are shown. Most of them I recognized with the exception of the one shown at 2.37. Please leave me a comment if you know anything about that performance of Get Home.

Sarah to Tour Germany & Switzerland in 2009

Perhaps as a follow up to her album The Baroness being released in Denmark, it was announced at the Wine and Grape Festival concert that Sarah will touring in Germany. The St. Catherine Standard confirmed that this will take place in January and will be followed by visiting Switzerland.

With the Baroness's recent release in Denmark, this could be a sign that the album might be released across Europe in a fashion similar to Day One.

For those who have not kept a close eye on SarahSlean.com, this December Sarah will be playing her annual Christmas show at Harboufront/Enwave Theatre on December 19th. Harbourfront's website indicated a date of December 20th leading to some speculation that a second concert may be confirmed at a later date.

Sarah's Tour Journal

As Sarah did for her touring of Day One, she has shared her tour journal as she plays across the country.

The journal indicates that she played a private show in Banff on May 2, 2008. A few years ago Sarah stayed in Banff and had completed some new paintings. Not sure if that's related. The official page indicated that "Sarah Slean had the day off".

To hear today's broadcast of Sarah on CBC's Q you can pick up their podcast (mono mp3).

Sarah opened the show playing Get Home followed by a short interview regards to the song and the album title. They came back to Sarah later in the show where she played No Place at All. To close the show they returned to Sarah and she played Looking for Someone. All songs were played on an in studio grand piano.

In the closing statement they mentioned the Canadian tour will start in May.
